Me neither actually.
If you have a Smart Roadster, you get two instruments on pods on the dash. Like so.
They’re angled to the driver as you would expect. But they don’t have to be. They rotate. Want to give a passenger a look?

No, I haven’t an idea why.

Same parts for left or right hand drive vehicles is my guess

If I got a smart the first thing I’d do is find some way to replace those tiny gauge pods. I suppose some people like them, but... they really could have freed up some more real estate to plonk those gauges in.
